In what is a strong and focused piece I have blended some very fine and subtle detailing that helps to balance the components together. Complimenting all the shapes and forms is a delicate and fine application of soft pink – seen in the form of an extensive splash – that moves with presence across the canvas from the right hand side. Dominant patches of red are woven together with intricate blends of white and black to form sensual and erotic shapes – cleverly balanced around a central form that breathes life into the rest of the painting. Even though I have painted a presence in the centre of this piece it is perhaps the motion and suspense that’s created around it that really stands this work out as extraordinary. In places the piece seems almost ephemeral and dream-like yet in other ways it conveys such deep emotions of desire and lust. I love this paradox of analogies. It’s what makes this piece unique.

As a technical triumph too, this painting is significantly accomplished. Using a multitude of techniques to achieve flows, splats, forms and lines has taken a great deal of time and patience to get right. Despite its relatively small size Falco packs a punch way above its weight – proving perhaps that the best things come in small packages.
